Are you trying to tune out that self-doubt?
To be a successful business owner today, talent, academic knowledge, and qualifications aren’t enough. What every business owner needs to succeed is confidence in themselves and the value they provide.
Without confidence, a business owner might fall into traps like: - undervaluing their worth and charging too little money for their time - spreading themselves too thin by saying “yes” to everything and everybody - getting easily distracted by problems and roadblocks because they feel as though they don’t have the skill set needed to solve the issue at hand - taking rejection too personally and letting negative feedback slow their momentum or affect their motivation
Do these sound like issues that you struggle with?

Tricks and tips for feeling more confident.
- Feel confident in the quality of your product or service. If you’re starting and can’t afford to source high-quality materials, make sure that you’re able to provide a quality experience in other aspects of your business, or re-evaluate your business plan and see where you might be able to move around a little extra money to cover the costs of a higher-quality product. If you feel confident talking about the quality of what you’re trying to sell, it’ll be much easier to pitch to clients, investors, and community members.
- Fake it ‘til you make it! Confidence is less of an emotion and more of a state of mind. Use positive affirmations to shift your mindset, like, “I am good at what I do” or “I bring value to my community.” Over time, you’ll reprogram your subconscious to feel more confident.
- When you look good, you feel good. Invest in a wardrobe and anything else that makes you feel your best, including a nice haircut, a fragrance, or a piece of jewelry.
- Follow in the steps of others. Keep an eye on other successful businesses and emulate what they do well. At the same time, don’t be psyched out about competing with them. More than one or two people can win at the same game!
